I’ve seen the afternoon tea tour bus in London and always wanted to book it. I went with a friend for their birthday.
Finding the pick up location was easy. We arrived early and waited with others. There was a lot of traffic due to bad weather and road works. The bus was half an hour late but everyone got a call to advise us of this.
The organisers apologised when they arrived. Everyone boarded quickly and the bus left within minutes.
I didn’t think there was enough food served if I’m honest. There should have been more.
I ordered the halal option. I had the coronation chicken sandwich, a few deserts and a scone with clotted cream and jam.
There was only one ham finger sandwich for my friend who had the traditional option. There were cucumber and what looked like cream cheese sandwiches.
For a halal option, I personally felt there could have been more. Apart from the chicken, everything else was what you would expect.
There’s a wide selection of hot drinks. The cups we drank from were ours to keep. I gave mine to my friend.
The staff brought out little cup cakes with a candle for my friend and another passenger who celebrated their birthdays. Everyone sang “Happy Birthday”.
I enjoyed the tour of London. Once out of Trafalga Square, there wasn’t much traffic. It was great going around London on the bus while having afternoon tea. I would recommend this and also the halal option.
I would go again. Choose the top deck if you can.
