On Sunday we decided to go to Christopher's for my dads birthday brunch. It was difficult to find good brunch places in London which offered a good variety from the menu where everyone could find something they liked, a place which was a bit upmarket and one that also still had bookings available as we left it it a bit late to book. In the end we decided on Christopher's restaurant In Covent Garden, located just off the Strand with plenty of parking in the nearby area. The restaurant has a really nice feel to it and nice decor inside. I rang ahead to confirm the halal options and they offer halal wagyu beef burgers and halal steak and eggs. Once we were seated I began to browse the menu which had a good variety from healthy super food to more indulgent chocolate french toast. I decided to go for a triple chocolate shake along with a wagyu beef burger cooled medium and shoe string fries. My family ordered a few different things which to be honest I cannot recall the names of but everyone enjoyed their food and the sweet potato fries were very nice. Better than the shoe string fries which I had which was very oily. When my burger arrived it looked great. As the pattie was quite big and even with a mouth my size there was no way it was going to fit lol . I proceeded to cut the burger in half upon which time I noticed that my burger was far from being medium but actually rare inside. Normally I would have sent it back but this time I decided to give it a go as I'd never had a rare burger before. My brother in law had the same problem with his burger but decided to give it a try. I was surprised that as I tried it it didn't actually taste raw or gamey. It was quite nice actually. It was nice and juicy, the sautéed onions complimented the burger nicely as well as the tomato. There was not too much going on in the burger and when eating a prime cut like wagyu beef I think the pattie should be the star of the show which it was. The triple chocolate shake I ordered was nice, although I prefer my shakes a bit more thicker. The complimentary bread they offer was also very tasty. You can't go wrong with some good old bloomer bread. We told the staff on the d-low that it was my dads birthday and kindly brought out a beautiful chocolate brownie dessert with ice cream and a fire cracker in the middle which made a nice end to the meal. Defo worth a try of you are looking to go for a special lunch or dinner.
