After being told the wait at dishoom would be two hours we decided to walk here instead. This place has gorgeous fresh Indian curries and lovely unique chutneys and starters. The waiters were not particularly attentive and one was a bit in your face but friendly nevertheless. The prices are a bit excessive (£16+ for the curry alone) so I'd only come here for an over the top splurge or on an occasion in the future but not as a regular spot. The atmosphere was calm but relaxing on a Thursday eve. I have to also mention the toilets... Try them out for an interesting surprise!

Celebrated our anniversary and went for the taster menu at £65pp. The first several dishes were incredible especially the Madagascan Prawn and Scollops. Desserts were great and received a lovely plate with a small cake and caramelised figs with a lovely message in white chocolate. Only reason for the 4 star and not 5 is the main dish was average. Either way will be back again. Our host was knowledgeable and observant

We went for my sisters birthday meal. It's a beautiful restaurant with really nice interior. The food was lovely and service was great although a couple of times waited to get someone's attention - but very nice and helpful. The toilets are amazing and very advanced which sounds strange but is great

Made a group booking with a set menu for a hen party. The chef came over himself to ask how our meal was going and the service was great. Only reason it gets 4/5 for service is because the waiter on my side of the table kept on forgetting to bring the water. You have to check out the toilets!

Went to Darbaar for our anniversary and was not dispointed. Called to book and asked if they could arrange a bouquet of specific flowers in a particular arrangement. Lady on the phone was more than happy to oblige. Got to the restaurant slightly early so went through to the lounge area for drinks. After a while we made our way to our table which had the flowers exactly as requested.
Food: we went for the Maharaja taster menu. Was not disappointed. Perfectly cooked meats and lovely fresh greens. The pickled fruit bowl took some getting used to but once you get over the fact it’s spicy fruit it’s not that bad.
Service: friendly, professional and courteous. That’s all I would expect and that’s what we got. Cannot fault one bit.
Ambience: the restaurant is nice with simplistic decor and feature art pieces.
Price: not cheap but I knew that before I booked. I was expecting to pay a lot and I’m glad to say the restaurant delivered my money’s worth so it’s ok.
Overall a lovely restaurant, excellent food, well trained staff in a very accessible location. It’s a winner in my book and I will be returning.
