Halal status comment
All meat served is halal. Alcohol is served. Comment from Abraham's (meat supplier for Stax): "We are supplying Bea her beef and beef bacon. The meat is stunned halal. We make sure that the throat and heart of the cow is slit after bolt stunning to whilst the tasbiya is said. This is because Bea wants her beef to be stunned so we do this for her only. All of our other beef comes from am hmc approved slaughterhouse. We buy this as we can guarantee that the meat is halal if we can't go to the slaughterhouse ourselves as our demand sometimes out weighs what we can manage to oversee our selves. All of our organic lamb and organic chicken comes from soil association certified suppliers. We slaughter this ourselves, myself, zeki or Salah." - January 2017
I tried this restaurant because I read on HalalGems about their 28 day dry aged beef. Weirdly enough, I really liked their fried chicken and ended up eating both my Stax Burger and the leftovers of my friend's chicken burger!
The atmosphere is a little difficult for conversation - there was a big group when I went and the music was a little loud. Apart from that the service was great, food was different and interesting, and I love the ethos of the restaurant. I'd recommend trying it.

Came here about a day ago with friends. Really quite a funky place, bit cramped mind you! Ordered chickadee burger, others ordered burgers (chicken and beef), fries and popcorn shrimp. Service was really quite quick. Incredibly generous portions of food. My chickadee burger- buttermilk fried chicken with brioche was quite tasty! Though I preferred the 28 day dry aged beef burger that my friend ordered. Reasonably priced, less than 20 per head. Not the best I've had but still good value for money. Worth a visit!

Not your typical burger joint at all! Absolutely mouthwatering food, great staff and a really good atmosphere for going out with friends. Only complaints were that the shop isn't a great size so when combined with their popularity it's always gonna be packed. This is easy to get around though as there is seating outside, nevertheless go with a small group (2-4 people).

I've been here twice, excellent place and great food. Their chicken waffle with honey syrup is a MUST!

I love Stax. Never thought I'd ever have Chicken & Waffles with maple syrup but I tried it once and now it's the only thing I have! Great fries and shakes too.
