Discover a piece of East Asia in London by visiting Chinatown which is a must‑visit location when in London. Chinatown consists of a few connecting roads around Leicester Square that are filled with East Asian restaurants, bakeries and bubble tea spots. This location is great to spend a part of your day at when in Central London.

Whilst there are few fully halal restaurants in Chinatown, check out our list of authentic food spots in Chinatown that serve either fully or some halal options, let us know your favourite!

1. Rasa Sayang

Rasa Sayang serve delicious authentic Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine with popular dishes such as bbq platters, roti canai, beef rendang, chilli chicken and loads more! This place is perfect for a delicious meal with friends, family or a casual date.

2. Laksamania

Laksa specialists Laksamania provide satays, noodles & other traditional Malaysian eats served in casual quarters with an open kitchen.This place is great for a delicious meal with friends or to satisfy your burning laksa cravings!

3. Nusa Dua

Serving traditional home‑style Indonesian food is Nusa Dua London. They are very popular for their chicken and lamb satay, as well as a wide‑range menu. This place is great for a casual meal with friends or family ‑ good spot to take the kids to.

4. C&R Cafe and Restaurant

C&R Cafe and Restaurant is an independent family‑run business serving homemade Malaysian and Chinese food. They specialise in Laksa noodle soup but also serve Nasi Goreng (fried rice) and curry puffs pastry, great for on the go! This place is great for a casual meal with friends.

5. Real Beijing Restaurant

Real Beijing London is an independent family‑run business serving homemade Malaysian and Chinese food. They specialise in Laksa noodle soup but also serve Nasi Goreng (fried rice) and curry puffs pastry, great for on the go! This place is great for a casual meal with friends.

6. P.F Chang’s Asian Table

P.F Chang’s Asian Table is one of the most popular pan‑Asian restaurants in London. Their signature dynamite shrimp is unmissable, as well as plenty of flavoursome dishes. This restaurant sits at the very start/end (depending on where you begin) of Chinatown and is a great location for a fancy meal with friends or a date.

7. Hankies Shaftesbury

Hankies Shaftesbury is a casual Indian street food restaurant serving Indian Tapas and specialize in serving Roomali Roti. This restaurant is great for a casual meal with friends or when looking for Indian food in the area.

8. Good Friend

Ji Chickens is a great spot for a quick bite to satisfy your fried chicken cravings. They bring Taiwanese fried chicken with 7 different powders for you to choose from. They are very popular and make a great snack on the go!

9. Bunsik

Bunsik London specialise in Korean hot dogs. You can order the mozzarella potato hotdog or classic option. A great meal or snack on the go!

Halal Status: Pork is also served however they have confirmed no cross contamination.

10. Monga

Monga is another Taiwanese street food hotspot in Chinatown that is super popular. They serve fresh chicken fillets that are marinated with honey and have various toppings, including melted cheese.

11. Happy Lemon

Happy Lemon serve a huge variety of Taiwanese bubble tea combinations. They are widely popular for their Oreo and tiramisu bubble tea, however they also serve fluffy Japanese souffle cheesecakes.

12. Woo Tea

Why not treat yourself to handmade oolong artisan bubble tea from Woo Tea London. They serve a variety of drinks ranging from fruity summer bubble tea to classic milk‑based bubble tea.

13. Yolkin

For delicious macaron ice cream sandwiches and South East Asian ice cream flavours, check out Yokin Cafe. As tasty as their sweet treats are, their macarons come in multiple adorable figures and shapes, each season.

14. Tsujiri

If you’re a matcha fan then Tsujiri is a must visit. They serve a range of match desserts such as matcha ice cream, matcha latte and Japanese teas.

15. Bubble Wrap

18. Taiyakiya

Taiyakiya is a popular Japanese bakery serving fantastic soft serve out of their trademark taiyaki ‑ a fish‑shaped waffle situation. This makes for a great and unique‑looking dessert on the go!

19. Mamasons

Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream serve a variety of Filipino desserts such as ‘The Bilog’ (award‑winning ice‑cream sandwiches), ice cream scoops including (flavours like ube, milo, calamansi, queso & black buko).

20. Hefaure

Hefaure London serve Japanese fluffy souffle pancakes and bubble tea. They sit right at the end/beginning of Chinatown depending on your route. They also have indoor seating, as well as to‑go boxes.
